Ji-sung Park becomes a hero in Carling Cup

Ji-sung Park, Korea’s winger, became a ‘hero’ in the Carling Cup. On September 22th 2010, Manchester United beat Scunthorpe United at Glanford Park, England 5-2. Ji-sung Park scored a goal, but that wasn’t it. He made two assists. Also, Ji-sung Park scored two goals that led Manchester United beat Wolverhamton Wanderers.


Ji-sung Park was born on February 25th, 1981. He grew up at Suwon. At 2000, he signed the contract with Kyoto Purple Sanga. After leading the team to the Emperor’s Cup, he followed Guus Hiddink(he lead Korea to the 4th tournament)to PSV Eindhoven. There, he made great honors to PSV, and was elected as one of the UEFA MVP in Forward section in 2005. In the closing months of 2004~2005 season, Manchester United’s director Sir Alex Ferguson chose Ji-sung Park, and he signed for 4 million pounds. After that, Ji-sung Park became a key player to Manchester United.


He became a star at the 2002 World Cup. When Korea had to at least draw with Portugal, Ji-sung Park scored a winning goal that led Korea to the 4th tournament.


Ji-sung Park doesn’t have a good physique (178cm, 73kg). However, he used to drink frog juice-only to play soccer. Ji-sung Park. He is now called as the captain of Korea.
